Jenny's Skeleton Key

January was a bleak month here in New York City. The second snowiest month ever did not bode well for inkspotting, but on the last day of the month, I met Jenny, a graphic designer, at my local bookstore.<br /><br />Jenny had two tattoos visible, but has nine others as well. It points toward her heart and represents the fact that she makes her own decisions in her life, or in her own words, "I open my own doors".<br /><br />She had this done by Mumia at <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/omega-tattoos-and-body-piercing-jackson-heights">Omega Tattoos</a> in Queens. Brian's Mat-tree-monial Tattoo

He alluded to the roots that spread out, firmly symbolizing family.<br /><br />Brian also explained that it was an investigation piece: he added a key, hanging from a branch. Brian's wife has a similar tree on her right arm (Brian's is on the left), only with cherry blossoms instead of a key, and a baby in the design as well.<br /><br />The couple are linked not only by their vows, but by their similar ma-tree-monial tattoos. Mor's Key is Found and Kept Forever

On the last Monday evening in June, I met Mor at the Barnes & Noble in Union Square. At some point in the middle of the night, this began to bother Mor, who would pluck the key off and throw it across the room. In the morning, Mor would find the key. This unusual pattern became a ritual of sorts until one morning, the key was nowhere to be found.
